The full programme of events for this year's Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival is on sale now.
2017 is already shaping up to be another great year for the iconic Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival, which will run in various locations around Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown from 22- 26 March 2017. Hightlights of this year's festival include readings by Joanna Trollope, Michael Longley & Fanny Howe, Sarah Howe & Nick Laird, Judith Kerr and Ryan Tubridy & P.J. Lynch.
As always, the Poetry Now strand is an important keystone to the on-going success of the festival. In 2017 we welcome Michael Longley and Fanny Howe, two of the most cherished poets working today, for an evening of exquisite, peerless writing. Another poetry highlight is Sarah Howe, a British poet whose collection Loop of Jade won the 2015 T.S. Eliot Prize, who will read with Tyrone poet Nick Laird.
The Schools and Families’ programme once again brings the best local and international writers working in this vibrant sector to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. In 2017 we are delighted to welcome broadcaster and author Ryan Tubridy and Laureate na nÓg P.J. Lynch who will present Patrick and The President, a gorgeous new picture book that evokes President John F. Kennedy’s return to his ancestral home in Ireland in 1963.
A true legend of children’s literature, 93 year old Judith Kerr, author and illustrator of The Tiger Who Came To Tea will also be visiting Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival. Judith will be in conversation with her lifelong editor and designer, Ian Craig.
